BIOBank is an independent French company, tissue bank for orthopaedic, spine, dental and maxillofacial surgery. Top French human origin bone bank, BIOBank has been using its expertise in the service of health for more than 20 years.
Approved by the ANSM (French National Safety Agency for Health Products), the company handles all stages of the process, from the collection of tissues to the processing of the bone grafts. BIOBank is the first tissue bank to benefit from the ISO 13485 certification for bone allografts, which allows its international development.
OUR SUPERCRIT® PROCESS
The Supercrit® process is based on delipidation of bone tissue using CO2 in supercritical state, combined with chemical oxidation of the residual proteins contained in the pores of the cancellous tissue.
Due to its low viscosity and its high solvency properties, supercritical CO2 has an incomparable delipidating efficacy without aggressive action on the bone matrix.

SAFETY AT THE CENTRE OF OUR PROCESS
To ensure the safety of the receivers, we control the entire chain of implementation of the grafts. Our transparent approach ensures a constant quality of tissues and processed products.
Biobank activities are subject to an authorisation issued by the ANSM. Similarly, the bone grafts benefit from a single marketing authorisation issued by the ANSM. BIOBank also has an export authorisation for its grafts.

IN BIOBANK’S DNA
Supercrit® Technology
Innovation is a main purpose of the BIOBank’s corporate project. Being the first tissue bank in the world using the patented supercritical fluids technology to degrease and viro-inactivate bone allografts, BIOBank has been innovative from the outset.
Innovative packaging
Bone powder is provided in a syringe with a specifically developed design. This innovation enables the surgeon to rehydrate bone tissue in a semi-closed system, guarantee of optimal asepsis and, to dispense the rehydrated powder directly in the grafting site. This innovation has highly efficient applications as small fillings in oral surgery and arthrodesis in neurosurgery.
Customised grafts
By implementing sophisticated technologies based on the analyses of scanner images, 3D modelling an printing and machining on a digital centre, BIOBank is the only tissue bank to offer pre-machined bone grafts, perfectly adapted to the patient’s bone anatomy. This approach constitutes a real revolution for the quality of bone reconstruction and the comfort of patients by minimising surgical time and postoperative effects.
Future developments
In scientific partnership with several academic laboratories, BIOBank invests in new forms and formulations with increased bioactivity.
